The Lodge

Our History

For over 20 years, the Stony Mountain Lodge has been owned by the Gimple family and managed by Arno Krumm. The Gimple’s fell in love with the beauty of remote Alaska, and it quickly became a goal of theirs to share this incredible place with family and friends. Through resource management and conservation, they have also made it a priority to create an area with one of the most prolific wildlife numbers in western Alaska.

With a combined love for aircraft and adventure, the Gimple’s found a unique way to share this remote location with others by utilizing turbine helicopters and airplanes. This allows for a “one of a kind” personally tailored experience for everyone who visits the Stony Mountain Lodge.

Environment

The Stony Mountain Lodge sits on the western bank of the Stony River, located in the interior of Southwest Alaska. It is accessible only by helicopter or bush planes.

The remote destination provides one of the most beautiful places in the world to relax and spend time with family and friends. At the Stony Mountain Lodge, we have activities for the while family to enjoy.

From hiking along the river bank, picnicking above tree line, or relaxing with a book and listening to the rain in our screened in gazebo, there are so many ways to enjoy your trip tp the Stony Mountain Lodge.
